Residents and visitors alike flock to the Palm Desert Civic Center Park every Thursday evening in May and October for the City's free Concerts in the Park. Held on the terraced lawn of the Civic Center Park Amphitheater, music lovers can look forward to diverse musical offerings that may range from reggae to R&B, and from country to indie.
Music lovers are encouraged to bring a blanket or a chair with them in order to sit back, relax and enjoy live music under the stars. Food trucks are on hand to offer up mobile culinary creations, or concertgoers can bring a picnic along to enjoy with the show. Alcoholic beverages and smoking are prohibited in the park.
Palm Desert Visitor Services will be at each of the concerts with their pop-up mobile unit. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to offer free giveaways as well as literature on local attractions, shops, restaurants and more.
The next scheduled concerts will be held in October 2016. Each concert begins at 6pm. This season's line-up features:
- October 6: Dead Man's Party – Oingo Boingo Tribute Band
- October 13: The Reelers – Traditional Irish and Folk Music
- October 20: The Debonaires – Reggae and Ska
- October 27: Leftover Cuties – Indie Pop
