If browsing for bargains and hidden treasures sounds like a fun way to while away a few hours, don't miss the College of the Desert's Street Fair, an open-air shopping experience held every Saturday and Sunday year-round. For over 30 years, Street Fair has been a popular weekend destination for locals and visitors alike.
Shoppers love to stroll the shaded aisles of the Street Fair. With over 300 merchants selling everything from apparel and jewelry to golf clubs and kitchen utensils, Street Fair is home to untold hidden delights. A number of food vendors and fresh produce booths are onsite as well, offering a quick pick-me-up to help shoppers fuel up. While you take that break, be sure to enjoy the live entertainment that is offered each weekend, as well.
Funds raised by the COD Alumni Association memberships and the Street Fair provide over $500,000 in student scholarship and financial aid per year and fund many other college programs and projects.
The Street Fair is held in the parking area at the northwest corner of the College of the Desert campus. Shuttles provide complimentary transportation from the adjacent parking areas accessible off Monterey Avenue. The Street Fair's regular season hours from October though May are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and from 7 a.m. to noon, June through September.
