Spotlight 29 Casino is proud to present The Who Show, Southern California’s longest running and highly esteemed celebration of The Who, on Saturday, August 30th. The Who Show has been thrilling audiences for over a decade with their ability to accurately capture stage personas, eccentricities and personal habits of the original band members. VH1 voted them “Most Believable 1970’s Era Praise Band,” and they were also hailed by The Los Angeles Times to be “in a class by themselves.” The Who Show takes pride in duplicating more than just the sound and look, but also the energy, essence and original magic of these rock and roll legends. - See more at: http://startickets.com/events/item/a-celebration-of-the-who-show#sthash.srT9odhE.dpuf

Mummenschanz

Location: McCallum Theatre

Event Type: Theater

Event Web Site: http://www.mccallumtheatre.com/

Now in its 43rd season, Swiss mask theater troupe Mummenschanz has pioneered a new form of visual theater that has since spawned multiple new genres reclaiming their legacy. Formed by founding members Andres Bossard, Floriana Frassetto and Bernie Schürch, Mummenschanz has since inspired generations of show-goers across five continents over four decades. The 'stories' told are unique in that they have no sound or music; the language of Mummenschanz is universal. In the wordless universe of Mummenschanz, the ordinary becomes extraordinary when common materials, everyday objects (like toilet paper) and colorful abstract shapes and forms like the famous "Clay Masks," "Slinky Man" and "Giant Hands" spring to life. By creating a playful yet compelling experience through the inventive use of shadow, light, and creative manipulation of objects, Mummenschanz offers timeless insight on the human condition. The result is a visually stunning spectacle of that transcends cultural barriers and sparks the imagination.
