From hip hop to rock to funk to jazz, nearly every music genre is represented at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Since 1999, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has drawn massive crowds to the Empire Polo Field in Indio, and has grown to become one of the country’s most renowned music events. With a strong focus on sustainability, concert-goers are encouraged to carpool, conserve water and recycle, and camping on the grounds has become a very popular option as well.
In 2012, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival expanded to two "identical" three-day weekends, essentially doubling the number of people who could attend. Regardless, tickets sell out very quickly after the headliners are announced in January. In addition to the 130 performers, there will be light shows, public art displays and tents where food and beverages will be sold. The next Coachella Festival is scheduled for April 11-13 and April 18-20, 2014.
Tickets are available as a three-day Festival Pack. In addition to event tickets selling out, surrounding hotels fill up quickly during the festival, so the earlier you book the better. Visit the official Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival website for more information including how to purchase tickets, and information on camping at the festival.
