About the artist:
Lisa Reinertson was educated at University of California, Davis, where she received both her Bachelors and Masters of Fine Art in 1982 and 1984 respectively. She also studied at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. She is best known for her figurative memorial sculptures, including "Cesar Marching to Sacramento" for Sacramento, CA 2001; "Martin Luther King Memorial" for Riverside, CA in 1999; "March to Manengon" for the Guam Memorial Commission in 1994; and "Dogs Playing" for the UC Medical Center in 1992. In addition to her public commissions, the artist has had solo exhibitions throughout Northern California. Reinertson has been recognized for her work with a 1992 Professional Achievement Honor, a 1989 Research Award from the California State University, Chico and a 1983 Regents Fellowship, University of California.
